Question:-
On which factor(s), does the, heat lost by the human body in the process of radiation depend?
Option (A)
Temperature only
Option (B)
Temperature and air motion
Option(C)
Temperature and relative humidity
Option(D)
Relative humidity and air motion
Correct Option:
(A)
Question Solution:
The loss or gain by radiation (QR) from the body to the surrounding depends upon the mean radiant temperature. It is the average surface temperature of the surrounding objects when properly weighted and varies from place to place inside the room. When the mean radiant temperature is lower than the dry bulb temperature is lower than the dry bulb temperature of the air in the room, QR is positive i.e. the body will undergo a radiant heat loss on the other hand if the mean radiant temperature is higher than they dry bulb temperature of air in the room. QR is negative i.e., the body will undergo a radiant heat gain.
